Overview
As an Account Director, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth, managing key agency relationships, and help lead commercial strategy across our portfolio of screens. You will serve as a senior representative of the business within the WPP agency ecosystem, ensuring our DOOH solutions are front of mind and consistently delivering value.
This role is remote, with regular travel across London for agency meetings, client presentations, and industry events. The head office is based in Sunderland and you will be expected to attend the head office for commercial team meetings 2-3 times per quarter.

Our screens reach millions of people every week, providing brands with dynamic, data-led advertising opportunities.
We were founded In 2019 and are on a huge growth journey with our national network running across 1,100 live screens across key downs and cities.
Key Responsibilities

Help raise awareness across the national market on who Smart Outdoor are.

Grow key relationships across WPP agencies, working with planning, strategy and the Kinetic teams.

Deliver and exceed revenue targets through proactive sales activity and long-term account development.

Position the company’s DOOH offering as a core part of client media plans by demonstrating value, innovation, and measurable outcomes.

Produce compelling proposals, presentations, and responses to briefs.

Build deep understanding of client sectors, brand challenges, and competitive landscapes to identify new business opportunities.

Partner with internal teams (operations, development, data & insights) to ensure high-quality campaign delivery.

Provide market feedback, helping shape product enhancements and go-to-market strategies.

Represent the business at industry events, networking sessions, and agency events

Required Experience & Skills
-
Minimum 5 years’ experience in media sales with a proven track record of delivering revenue.

Strong existing relationships within WPP agency group (e.g., GroupM, Wavemaker, Mindshare, EssenceMediacom, Kinetic).

Experience selling DOOH or a strong understanding of the wider OOH ecosystem.

Excellent communicator with polished presentation and negotiation skills.

Proven ability to build senior-level relationships and influence key decision-makers.

Self-motivated, organised, and comfortable managing a remote schedule.

Ability to think strategically while executing tactically in a fast-paced environment.
